Our December Traditions
This month has been insanely busy, but for good reason. It’ll be the first time in 9 years that I’m not wrapping presents at midnight on Christmas Eve. I’ve actually gotten it all done and that’s a first. I have yet to bake cookies, but that’s on today’s to do list and it’s the last of what is on my list. We’ve gone to look at lights, visited Santa, sent Christmas cards out, read a new book with the kids (The Family Under The Bridge), made rum balls, delivered presents to friends, and much more.
Growing up, our Advent calendar was simply filled with candy every day. When my stepkids were young, I changed that tradition. For 16 years now, our December includes activities and memories. We visit Santa, go ice skating, shop for Toys For Tots, make cookies, watch certain movies, unwrap and read a Christmas themed book, and tomorrow we’ll read Twas The Night Before Christmas. On Christmas day, we put the baby Jesus into the nativity scene.

Ted and I also have a Christmas movie list that we start to watch Thanksgiving weekend. Another first for us is that we are actually on track to watch them on by Christmas day! The movies include older ones such as The Man Who Came To Dinner, Bishop’s Wife, Christmas in Connecticut, Remember The Night, Going My Way, White Christmas and 20 more!
Tomorrow night, we’ll be with our best friends enjoying the most delicious meal and on Monday, my stepkids will make their way over for presents and a day of foof and family time.
Book Stuff
How To Get On Podcasts continues to hit the Amazon #1 New Release for Podcast Books category and I’m so excited about that. Fingers are crossed for it to make Best Seller in that category!
It seems that this week Amazon decided that the pub date would be moved once again to January 23rd. If you’re keeping track, like I am, then that’s move #4 so far. Barnes & Noble still shows it as January 17th, so I’m going to keep hope for that day. At this point I’m going to work hard on letting everything simply fall into place. I’ve worked really hard to tweak my podcast episodes, interviews and 50 tips to align with the pub date changes, but now I’m going to simply go with the flow and let it be. My hope is to sign books on January 17th locally here in San Jose and on January 19th at Barnes & Noble on 5th Ave in New York City.
I still have some ARCs available, so if you’d like me to mail you one, please drop me a note to let me know! I’m very appreciative for the advanced reviews I’ve received on Goodreads and for the posts on Instagram!

I was also interviewed by Roxana Popet on Stories About Fear and how I’ve learned to say “no”.
A HUGE thank you to
for interviewing me this week!Reflection
I’ll be enjoying family time over these next two weeks and reflecting on what 2023 has brought and what I’m dreaming about for 2024 (Tuesday’s episode will talk about this!). The MLG Collective® clients reached 1,063,702 podcast listeners (the year isn’t quite over!). I’m in absolute awe of this and so very proud of the stories they’ve shared. I know they’ve made a difference in the lives of those who listened.
My dreams for 2024 and beyond are still a work in progress, but I do hope that my book will help even more people and podcast listeners are more stories are shared. Podcasts change lives.
I wish you all a very happy holiday season and love, health and happiness in the new year. Take time to reflect and don’t forget to dream!
Merry Christmas to you and your family Michelle. May your New Year be filled with many blessings!
